What A Hoot!

 

I haven’t read anything this funny for a long time. Call it The Perils of Pauline, 2021. Oh, the drama of it all!

Vice News (vice.com) has an article (undated) about the January 6th Capitol Riot from the perspective of woke lberal reporters. The title: ‘So, So Angry’: Reporters Who Survived the Capitol Riot Are Still Struggling”.

The poor delicate darlings were apparently traumatized beyond belief. Erik Wasson of Bloomberg News reported from his position locked down in the gallery he thought he heard shots.

“When they busted through the windows of the House floor with flagpoles, he thought they had guns and dove to the floor, thinking that the rioters were going to start shooting. Shortly afterward, he heard a shot outside - what later turned out to be the officer’s bullet that killed rioter Ashli Babbitt.” Wasson said,

“It was traumatizing,” he said.

But he kept reporting. (This needs to be said with steely determination in your voice.)

“I shut my emotions,” Wasson said. “If I went down, I was going to go down fighting. I’m going to do my job.” (Wow, what trooper!)

Despite Erik’s brave soldiering on to get the story, the title, “intrepid reporter”, was truly lost that day. All the reporters in this story have made themselves the story thus abandoning the first rule of journalism.

“Ginger Gibson, a politics editor at NBC News, has covered natural disasters and murder scenes. 

But this was different.” (Say this with extra drama.)

“That day we weren’t just observers; we were one of their targets,” said Gibson. “A lot of us reporters are having a tough time with that.” Maybe all the traumatized reporters can join AOC in her PTSD therapy. Ask for a quantity discount.

Funny, all the reports I’ve read seem to say that the target was to take over the government, not to target Ms, Gibson. But, according to her, she was the target. Somebody better tell the rioters. I don’t think they know that.
